The “Young Geologist” circle conducts its classes for students of 9th grades.

The main purpose of the classes is to identify talented, highly intelligent students entering the Geological Prospecting College.

The training program includes:

• introduction of the basic geological concepts ;
• identification of minerals and rocks;
• obtaining of professional skills.

The circle “Young geologist” contributes to:

• formation of students’ knowledge and initial skills of independent study of the given material;
• development of observation skills, the implementation of creative potential and personal fulfillment;
• popularization of geological and mining knowledge among the younger generation.

Members of the “Young Geologist “  regularly take part both in international and  in Kazakhstani geological Olympiads (watch video below). Having received recommendations from their leader , active members get additional “dividends”, which  are taken into account in college entering . For instance, young geologists who were engaged in the Second Republican Field Olympiad were admitted to  college.
